The ever awesome Kes came prepared with her wooden clappers for the Mountain View Obon Festival.

It's suspicious how similar the event was to the Centenary Arigato Bazaar that's held every year in Los Angeles. The Mountain View festival was bigger, and had better, cooler games, but all of the fundamentals were the same. There was the taiko performance, the sushi and manju booth, the bingo area, the raffle, the throw-ping-pong-balls-into-empty-fish-bowls-to-win-a-goldfish game, and even the same church ladies selling the same church cookbook with the same recipes. I half expected to run into six year old me, hyped up on shaved ice syrup, clutching a goldfish in a plastic bag, looking for Grandma to see if she'll buy me some more game tickets.

I've got about 1,600 photos from the day to sort through, and I'm so far behind editing photos in general it's just starting to get depressing. Half Minute Hero isn't helping any, either. Oh well.
